Requirements:
- Home must be a year-round primary residence, built over 12 months ago
- Must have a FortisBC residential natural gas and/or electric account, or a municipal account in Grand Forks, Penticton, Summerland, or Nelson Hydro
- Heat pump must replace an existing hard-wired electric heating system
- Installation must be done by a certified contractor from the Home Performance Contractor Network (HPCN)
- Emergency replacements are not eligible
- DIY installations and add-ons to existing heat pumps are not eligible
Efficiency Manitoba Heat Pump Rebate
Efficiency Manitoba offers up to $1,500 in rebates for installing a qualifying heat pump that replaces an existing electric heating system.
Eligibility:
- Must be a Manitoba resident
- Home or building must be served by Manitoba Hydro
- Must currently be heated by electricity, natural gas, oil, or propane
- Heat pump must replace an existing heating system
- Installed unit must appear on Natural Resources Canada’s eligible product list
- Installation must be done by a contractor registered with Efficiency Manitoba
